Mr Lexx looking forward to a family Christmas
Mr Lexx feels "blessed" to be a father. The 47-year-old dancehall artiste has five boys and four girls, and said that one of the best things about fatherhood is being able to pass on the lessons that were instilled in him.
"The amount ah years me a deejay, nobody can say there has been any scandal with me and any female, and that's because I was raised to have respect, to respect our women. This is what my own father preached to me," he told THE STAR. "All these years, I just try keep my children out of the limelight. But people have seen me interacting with my children through social media, and one thing that is of importance for me - to let them learn and show is respect."
He was happy to share that he will be surrounded by most of his children for the holidays. "Usually, at this time of year I would be travelling and I kind of miss that, but for December 2021 I am trying to get all my children to come to Jamaica, and that's a better way to spend it," he said.
Mr Lexx is also glad to have his father, Uvaney Palmer, around, after the senior was involved in a car accident on November 29. He reportedly suffered a seizure while driving. The cause of the seizure is still unknown.
"My dad had a seizure once, five years ago when he was in London, but we never knew the cause. He is doing great, up and about now, even though me haffi hide the other car key. He is 71 years old and acts like he is a machine. I am here trying to make sure I do everything to hold on to him for as long as I possibly can," he said.
The Cook deejay revealed that he is not a big fan of cooking, but knows that he may have to assume the duties of chef with the family spending time together.
Mr Lexx said, "In my defence, my song Cook was not that females should cook, but that they should be able to. As for me, I can cook. As a matter of fact, if me never buss as a deejay I could run a whole hotel and its kitchen, because I am certified in hotel management, waitering and catering."
"This year, we have the opportunity as a family to cook and eat together. It gives me all the more motivation to contribute to the cooking. I am reflecting on so much and I am grateful, looking forward to seeing my kids and spending some quality family time," he continued.
