Jamaica-born chart-topping music producer Extol Spence, founder of Extol Music, is celebrating a milestone after 11 years in the industry.

But he is not being complacent, remaining driven to continue building his musical legacy and challenging himself.

Known for songs such as Valiant’s Cut All Losses, Teejay’s Big Drip, Masicka‘s Yeh Blood and Lonely Road, and Govana’s Loyalty, he has also worked with artistes such as Rygin King and Chronic Law. Spence recalled the defining moment of his career.

“The first time I heard my song on the radio and the reception I received from the people all around, it was just a great feeling,” he said.

He has done numerous productions with a host of popular artistes on his label. Spence said that working with both up-and-coming and established artistes gives him an understanding and appreciation of each artiste’s varying writing skills, and said he learns from them. Even with more than a decade’s experience and multiple hit songs, the Big Drip producer remains humble.

“Nothing doesn’t set me apart, because mi neva pree say mi better than no one. Me just put in the work and keep my focus on me,” he said.

He told THE STAR that the happiest moment of his career was “when I make my first million”.

His recent label project Cut All Losses, featuring fast-rising reggae-dancehall singjay Valiant, released in October 2022, received tremendous feedback locally and internationally, which gives Extol label more notoriety in the business.
