LA Lewis says his ‘Dutty Money’ single ‘a lead’

Dancehall artiste LA Lewis is convinced that he has found the hit of the century with his latest single Good Zum Zum.

Recorded on Rvssian's popular 'Dutty Money' rhythm, he said that the track, which is dedicated to the female fans, has gained millions of views on major platforms.

"The say now is the most popular song on the riddim. When mi did just voice it, Nigy Boy [whose song Continent has been getting rave reviews] song did a lead, but right ya now, my song a lead, and you can Google it because nobody can tell lies when it comes on to social media," he said. "If you go on Google you don't even have to put in LA Lewis, just type in the Good Zum Zum and it just fly up and you will see say it gone over 11 million views."

According to the entertainer, he was encouraged by fellow dancehall artiste I-Octane to record a song on the rhythm earlier this month.

"Mi deh in the hairdressing parlour with one a mi five baby madda dem and all of a sudden, I-Octane call mi, but her toe never done do yet, so mi sail go round a Rebel T HQ," he said. Discussions soon began about the 'Go Go Club' rhythm which is the inspiration for Dutty Money .

"Dem a tell mi say mi have a remix on it weh a gwan good. But is a long time song name Summertime weh gone viral," he said. According to LA Lewis, just hours after he made the demo for Good Zum Zum, it was blowing up on the Internet and a dance move was instantly created.

"We voice the song the Sunday and drop the demo hours later, and mighty God, by the next sunshine bare people a call mi say di song gone. White people start call mi and Y Pree from dung a Seaview start ring off mi phone and it just take off," he said.

However, without the endorsement of Rvssian, Good Zum Zum cannot be legally released. But according to LA Lewis, he may not get the green light as he believe that his song is more popular than Vybz Kartel's Go Go Club which was released on the original beat years ago.

"My song already gone viral and the people dem done authorise it," he said. Declaring his love and respect for the incarcerated deejay, LA Lewis discouraged persons from trying to compare them as Vybz Kartel "is my artiste".
