Reggae songstress Alaine is set to deliver what she describes as a soul satisfying acoustic set on April 28 at the Smirnoff Serenades acoustic series at R Hotel's, District 5 restaurant in New Kingston.

"Performing is a rewarding period whether acoustic or full band. I'm so very blessed to be able to share my music in different ways. I'm really looking forward to Sunday's performance as we have something very special planned. It's going to be soul satisfying. Can't wait to see and sing for everyone," she told THE STAR.

This will be the No Ordinary Love singer's second acoustic performance this year following her first at the Earth Hour Concert a few weeks ago.

"Preparation is in the rehearsals. The music is stripped down and allows for us to be really creative with how we present it. It's the same kind of rehearsal though, in that we pay attention to arrangements and flow. So whether it's a big festival or a smaller acoustic venue, I still give rehearsals the same amount of attention," she said.

She explained that she embraces acoustic performances because of the up close and personal aura that they provide.

"I love them. They always feel more personal. It's a beautiful way to really connect with the audience. Acoustic performances always feel really intimate. It always feels like I'm having an individual conversation with each audience member when the music is stripped down to basics," she said.

"My songs mean a lot to me. They tell stories of life, hope, love, and overcoming, and being able to present them acoustically is always a big blessing. We will have fun with presenting them differently. Really looking forward to that," she added.

Smirnoff Serenades is a collaboration between Smirnoff and R Hotel's District 5, slated for the last Sunday of every month.

"I'm excited to share this intimate musical experience with everyone who attends. My musicians and I and the audience are going to have the best time. There's something really special about these types of performances and I know it will be something special; I can't wait," Alaine said.
