Following his five-year absence from the local entertainment scene, popular 'vibes master' MC Nuffy has finally settled his visa issues and is 'ready to fly again'.

He is gearing up for his first main event at Sting 2024, where he'll be recognised for his impact on the show and his role as a 'Top MC'.

"[Isaiah] Laing [former Sting promoter] tell mi seh 'Nuffy when yuh get back yuh wings and yuh know yuh can fly, I'm gonna honour yuh because yuh deserve to be honoured'; and dis year Nuffy get back him wings suh mi ready fi fly again. Mi deh a Sting from 1999 and this year, Laing is gonna honour me and crown me as 'The King of all MCs' cause no MC nuh bad like Nuffy," he said with a laugh. MC Nuffy opined that he brings a certain energy to dancehall and reggae music.

"It's a thing that I put my heart, my soul and my energy into; I put it before even collecting the money," he added. MC Nuffy expressed gratitude to the "American promoters" for still allowing him to exercise his passion while being away from Jamaica. His recent international hosting duties were at the UBS Arena in New York where his video introducing dancehall superstar Nigy Boy went viral.

MC Nuffy quickly clarified his reason for being unable to return home for five years.

"It's just that my babymother/girlfriend is a citizen in the [United] States and dem seh pandemic a come. So I decided to go up, and from March 2019, I just decided I'm not going to move again because she really needs me and we got twins - they are going to be eight years old this year. So we decided to do dis thing and get married and the rest a history. And yuh know yuh affi wait pon Uncle Sam fi do fi him part, suh a dat kinda tek long," he said.

However, before he sets foot on any stage, he said his first visit will be to his mom.

"I really miss my mother. Wi just only talk pon FaceTime and dem ting deh but mi really need fi see her in person [because] she's one of my biggest motivators throughout my whole life. So a deh suh mi heart lies; plus mi have mi likkle daughter down there too," he said. MC Nuffy commended the organisers of Sting for the show's new format.

"I want to commend them on that. It's a movement and I have to support it because young blood a young blood and if dem see where we can have three nights, mi affi go wid it because we don't give up on youths. Dem a di future suh mi affi help push and motivate it because Sting gone three nights and a fi di first time. So I like that movement, I'm with that movement and I'm for that movement; so let's do this and let it work," he charged.

MC Nuffy said that over the years, he has learnt much from Beenie Man, Bounty Killer and Ninja Man "with how they perform on stage and the energy dem bring".

"Dat help mi to enhance dancehall and bring it to another level. [Also] I don't go to a stage show to call on artiste, Nuffy go to rehearsal and help the artistes to pick and choose the songs and what to start off with. Mi tutor and do stage management work fi nuff artiste, help control the band during rehearsal. And dat is why mi always a get di same fahwud as the artistes. Nuffy also buss artistes and rise any career weh dead and that's why entertainers pay me specifically just to come introduce dem because Nuffy put di icing pon di cake," he proudly stated.
