After 13 years without any physical contact, hugs, or father-daughter outings, 17-year-old Kwashawna Elizabeth Campbell has given her father, Shawn 'Shawn Storm' Campbell, immense joy by excelling in her Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) exams, securing eight passes.

In an interview with THE WEEKEND STAR, Shawn Storm expressed his pride and amazement at his daughter's achievement, noting how she overcame challenges and proved doubters wrong.

"It was unbelievable yuh nuh - ecstatic, over the moon, and di whole a dem ting deh, because when me do CXC inna my time a four subjects me get, suh she come duh double weh me do. Mi look pon it from whole heap a different perspective, but it was just pure good reaction fi di whole day," said the singjay as he beams with pride.

In that same breath, he made sure to boost Kwashawna's confidence by reassuring her that the one subject she did not attain (French) was not a big deal, because "wi nuh speak French a Jamaica".

However, with no restrictions, he is openly guiding her along with her decisions as she continues on her educational path.

"She has the freewill to do whatever subjects shi want, mi naah mek she live my life; shi free fi choose, because if she choose it and shi fail - yuh learn from yuh mistake. But if shi waah dweet back again shi free fi dweet, a she a orchestrate her life weh shi a go duh when shi become an adult. Mi can just guide her, but mi naah guh force her fi do weh me wudda want. It's all about wah she want, because some parents waah pickney live the life weh dem fail, but me naah guh duh dat," Shawn Storm sternly elaborated.

Kwashawna, known as 'Lizzy,' was calm about her results, reminding her father that she had predicted both her successes and her struggle with French.

The high school graduate earned six grade ones, two grade twos, and a grade four. Though the latter is not widely recognised as a pass, Kwashawna plans to continue her education in sixth form, with aspirations to study law at university--a goal inspired by her father's legal troubles.

SUPPORT

"Mi just waah deh deh fi har as much and support her," the proud father said.

Despite her high school journey being plagued with her being bullied due to his incarcaration, the brilliant teen did not cave under the pressure.

"Pickney dem used to trouble her a her school and bare things, and [Monday] mi turn up at her school for the first, suh shi did happy. Shi call dem her 'haters-fans', [but] mi talk to her every night still, while I was incarcerated, and encourage her - a mi likkle brethren still," a relaxed Shawn Storm stated.

He said that he has been spending "more private quality time with [his] family" since his release on July 31, and "it's been great".

"A 13 years mi deh away from mi family, suh mi a tek every time until a time fi work. A family straight, and the bond is stronger than ever," the Loyalty artiste shared.

The formerly accused singjay who has been making the rounds on social media, dominating with several family bonding posts, was seen in one of his most liked videos playing his "old keyboard" he said his mother challenged him to play.

On that musical note, the artiste said supporters can look forward to a plethora of singles coming soon, as he has been consistently recording with various labels. He is also set to release an eight-track EP under the 'Worl Boss' Adidjaheim Records soon. As for the upcoming highly anticipated Vybz Kartel 'Freedom Concert', slated for December 31, Shawn Storm confidently confirmed his space on the event.

"Yea man, mi a guh deh deh, and mi a look forward to a concert weh mi a guh deliver. Wi a guh consolidate 13 years' worth of performance inna one night - it a guh be historical," the Vybz Party artiste said.
