Popular dancers, the HoSang Twins, expressed great joy after being booked to perform at Sting for the first time.

Kayla and Kyla HoSang, 17, said that they were "over the moon" when they got the call.

"Kayla was the one who jumped up because she was like 'Wi reach someweh big.' She was so happy because Sting is a big thing. So when our manager, who is our big sister [Santana HoSang] tell wi di news, a she [Kayla] first fly up," Kyla told THE WEEKEND STAR. "But I was so glad, I was so shocked. I didn't know what to do because I wasn't in the room when she got the news. So as mi step inna di room, she jus [blurted] it out pon mi."

In Kayla's defence, she said that she couldn't contain herself.

"A lot a things was going through my mind because I don't miss a Sting show - I watch every single one. Suh when mi hear seh mi get book fi di show, mi did really excited, mi couldn't believe it," Kayla chimed in.

The twins, who were at the media launch of Sting 2024, stared with great excitement at the screen as the crowd erupted following the announcements of their names on the big screen.

According to the event's promoter, Tahheer Laing, this year, the show will be geared towards a "softer Sting". This sees the omission of the notorious clashes, introduction of a beach festival, and bringing in new talent in categories titled TikTok Corner and Star Bound. These stars will perform at the stage show segment of the festival, dubbed, 'Sting Live' on December 26.

Being one of the youngest dance duos to ever touch the Sting stage, Kyla said this "means a lot".

"It means everything because it means that our dancing career a guh up," shared Kyla.

As past students of Vauxhall High School, the creative sisters said they discovered their dancing talent from a very tender age under the guidance and influence of Santana, a recording artiste who introduced them on stage shows as her backup dancers. Though they are exploring their talent in the art, they are currently enrolled in the Institute of International Recognised Qualification where Kayla is pursuing a career in nursing, while Kyla's interest is in business. However, they said they have no plans on giving up dancing as they plan to balance their study time and career with "proper time management" and "prioritising".

The twins, who started publishing content on TikTok two years ago, have already garnered more than 24,000 views and 3,000 followers, and have been booked for events such as Curry Fest 2024, while securing dance collaborations with other famous TikTokers.

"You're gonna have a lot of hate comments because wi do some videos wid like [famous musical group] Highflames but some people's comments were good. They'd say our 'Routine is bad and wi fi keep it up [because] practice makes perfect' and mi agree because di more yuh dance, di more yuh become perfect," Kyla opined.

The twins, who started out dancing at stage shows, funerals and among cheerleading groups, shared that moving from those experiences to a Sting stage means a lot and fans can expect them to bring "nuff energy" and TikTok arranged choreography.
