450 ready to deliver at BRT Weekend
Dancehall young giant 450 promises that with his "high energy and authentic passion" added to the 'biggest Caribbean festival of 2025', BRT Weekend will live up to the ultimate "vacation-style" experience and top-tier entertainment it promised.
"I'm bringing my energy, authenticity, and my unique sound to the stage. Anybody who has seen me perform knows my set is full of passion for the music, high energy, and real vibes. I want to make sure that everyone knows 450 is here to stay and is ready to take the dancehall sound to new heights," the Live n' Learn artiste told THE STAR.
BRT Weekend promoter Hans Peter Mullings shared that he specifically handpicked the Caribbean artistes/DJs slated for the event because he's confident that they'll bring the "top-tier", fully energised entertainment package he promised patrons.
"Music lovers deserve top-tier entertainment. That's why we're committed to delivering the DJs and performers that truly captivate the BRT audience. Every entertainer must bring high-energy, seamless transitions and non-stop vibes to keep the crowd fully engaged throughout their set," Mullings shared with THE STAR.
BRT Weekend 2025, which is themed 'Elevating the Experience,' returns to the stunning beaches of Atlantic City, New Jersey, from Friday, July 11 to Sunday, July 13. This year's festival promises to be "the biggest yet", and will feature an all-star line-up of top Caribbean artistes such as Masicka, Dexta Daps, 450, Nailah Blackman, Sizzla Kalonji and Jada Kingdom. The musical juggling will be controlled by world-class DJs such as Noah Powa, Boom Boom, Ricky Platinum and Copper Shot.
There are five uniquely themed events. Friday night will feature a Hawaiian-themed party to kick off the weekend, leading into Saturday with an extreme 'Wet & Wild Beach Party', followed by 'BRT Glow' later that evening. On Sunday morning, patrons will indulge in a 'J'ouvert Breakfast Party', with the grand finale coming in the evening with 'BRT All White'. Every event features at least two major performances.
"[We'll have] more of everything. Every department on the BRT Weekend team is pushing the limits to deliver an elevated experience. [There will be] more sound for an immersive audio experience, more lights and decor to enhance the ambiance, top-tier entertainment to keep the energy high, more space and vendors for an even better festival flow, and more props and interactive elements for unforgettable moments," said Mullings.
With several other similar events taking place during the summer within and around Atlantic City, Mullings said he's not fazed, as his event will be the "ultimate summer destination".
Meanwhile, 450 said he's anticipating the moment to share his talent on the BRT stage.
"It feels amazing to be part of such a major event, representing dancehall and Jamaican culture. Being one of the younger artistes in the line-up, I see it as an opportunity to bring fresh energy to the stage. A lot of my fans have been with me from the start, so moments like this prove that the work is paying off. I'm just thankful for the opportunity," 450 shared.
On that note, he underscored the importance of having more young artistes representing for dancehall music within the international space.
"It's crucial. Dancehall is a movement, and for it to grow, we need fresh voices and new perspectives. The older generation laid the foundation, but it's up to us now to push it forward while still respecting the roots. A lot of young artistes, including myself, are putting in real work to show that dancehall is alive and well -- not just in Jamaica, but globally," said the Journey artiste.
As he prepares to spread his authentic talent throughout Atlantic City this summer, 450 said he's locked in the studio working on new music, with the aim of releasing his upcoming album, Pieces of Me. He promised that this masterpiece will "surely be something that truly represents me -- real stories, real experiences". The artiste, who's also booked for a UK tour, assured fans that "it's going to be a big year for 450, and trust me, I'm just getting started".
