When fans of reggae singer Sevana ran onto the stage with protest placards bearing the words 'Justice' at the recent Earth Hour Jamaica concert, the audience went into a frenzy.

Sevana, Jamaica's quintessential 'triple threat talent' - as a singer, actress and model - connected with the fans via Instagram, asking them to come up specifically for the performance of her 2018 single, Justice. The song reiterates the negative impact of human carelessness on the earth.

Following her performance, the popular entertainer, whose given name is Anna Blake, told THE WEEKEND STAR that she thought about performing Justice and calling up the fans because she thought that would be the best way to merge her music with environmental concerns, such as climate change and global warming.

"The whole point of me coming to Earth Hour is because I care about my impact on earth and the human impact on earth. Hopefully, from my performance ... I highlighted some of the issues that we are facing, particularly with my song Justice," Sevana said.

"It was also important for me to incorporate more people (the fans). We pay attention when there's a protest or some sort of rebellion, so I wanted to make that come alive on stage, and make that point. So this is how I would relate the two," she said.

Before catching the patrons' full attention with Justice, Sevana started her performance with Haul & Pull, Bit Too Shy; If You Only Knew, with a blend of her Mango single; and a rendition of Michael Jackson's Earth Song.

With this being her third Earth Hour Jamaica performance, she reiterated the real purpose of the Esirom Foundation-hosted event, which encourages individuals, communities, and businesses to just give an hour for earth. Earth Hour is the single-largest, symbolic mass participation and powerful global movement which raises awareness about climate action and sustainability.

Also performing their hit singles for the night were Luciano, who closed the event, Irie Soulja, Keznamdi and Zaila Jazz.
