Popcaan to drop ‘Life Still A Gwaan’
International dancehall titan Popcaan is set to reclaim the airwaves with his latest single, ' Life Still A Gwaan', produced by the hit-making powerhouse Damage Musiq.
The track is scheduled for a global premiere this Friday, accompanied by a cinematic music video directed by Shane Creative. Life Still A Gwaan is a raw reflection of resilience and perseverance. The song serves as a defiant manifesto for anyone facing adversity, centering on the core message that no matter the obstacles or the critics, the journey continues. It is a track dedicated to the fighters, those who are determined to overcome the expectations of those who wish to see them fail. To capture this authentic spirit, the official music video was shot on location in St Thomas, providing a gritty and scenic backdrop that mirrors the song's emotional depth.
Speaking on the uncompromising message behind the production, Damage Musiq said that the song is about the fact that no matter what you may be facing, you must never give up.
"You have to prove them wrong and keep fighting, because there are always people who would love to see you fail. 'Life still a gwaan' is a powerful Jamaican expression that acknowledges that hardship, but insists that life continues--and triumphs--no matter what," he said.
This release marks the latest chapter in a prolific partnership with Damage Musiq and Popcaan that has consistently delivered genre-defining hits. Life Still A Gwaan follows the success of their two previous collaborations - Immortal Life, a standout track that showcased the duo's ability to create soulful, timeless dancehall; and Billionaire Status, a high-octane anthem that dominated the streets and charts alike.
