Press conference to discuss mystery bug

Following a meeting on Saturday with a team from the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI), the Ministry of Health and the South East Regional Health Authority, Minister of Health Dr Fenton Ferguson will again have a press conference to discuss the current situation regarding an infection affecting some newborns at the UHWI.

The press conference is scheduled to be held today at 10 a.m. at the Office of the Prime Minister in St Andrew.

At Saturday's meeting, Ferguson got a full update of the status of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), the issues being faced and the actions being taken to address the current situation. The minister was informed that there is no mystery bug as the causative agent has been identified and is being appropriately treated.
