A repeat offender was sentenced to three years in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court last Friday for his role in the theft of a motor car.

Charged with simple larceny is Sadique Henry.

Henry pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property.

The court was told that on September 26, about 3:10 a.m., the complainant parked a Nissan Tida motor car along Spanish Town Road and attended an event.

Upon his return the car was missing. He then contacted the owner who alerted the police.

Within a few hours, the car was tracked to a location in St Catherine where Henry was spotted driving the vehicle. Henry told RM Pusey, "Is a friend beg mi drive the car from one point to another ... I was paid."

RM Pusey asked Henry, "Haven't we met before and what for?"

"Yes, your honour ... for larceny of a motor vehicle ... this is the second time ... , I am asking for some leniency. The work I've been doing not turning over anything," said Henry.

He was sentenced to three years in prison and a fingerprint order made.
