Black-coffee drinkers are more likely to be psychopaths, according to a new study by scientific journal Appetite.

Dr Sagliogou of Innsbruck University tested 500 men and women, who were asked to rate a list of sweet, salty, bitter, and sour foods, while also answering personality tests.

The report revealed: "General bitter-taste preferences emerged as a robust predictor for Machiavellianism, psychopathy, narcissism, and everyday sadism." According to the Metro newspaper, the scientist also found those who like the taste of bitter foods are more likely to take part in fear-inducing tasks, including riding roller coasters.

He added: "We found particularly robust correlations with everyday sadism, which is a construct related to benign masochism - the enjoyment of painful

activities."

A drunk-driving suspect claims his dog was driving the car. Reliford Cooper III from Florida gave a rather creative excuse when he was arrested after crashing his car, while under the influence.

He asked the police officer: "Who was chasing me? My dog was driving that car. I ran 'cause I wanted to. You ain't gonna find no drugs or guns on me."

The suspect is believed to have driven through a stop sign and crashed into someone's home, according to a police report published by The Smoking Gun.

He is then alleged to have left his vehicle and hidden in a nearby church from the police.

The officer who arrested him said: "I was able to smell the strong odour of an alcoholic beverage, as well as an odour of burnt marijuana. Reliford continued to ramble without being questioned."
