A man was rushed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital in Montego Bay, St James, on Tuesday morning, after the van in which he and his daughter were travelling got out of control and went over a gully along the Fairfield main road leading up to the Granville community.

The man, it is alleged, operates a Toyota Noah van that delivers pastries to various communities. He was exiting Granville with his daughter aboard when the van got out of control and plunged over 100 feet into the gully.

Several commuters who ply the Granville to Tucker route stopped to get a look at the damaged vehicle. The man was rushed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital by passers-by, but up to press time, his condition could not be ascertained, while his daughter was unhurt.

A few hours after the incident, two wreckers assisted in removing the damaged van from the gully.
