10 injured in bus crash

Ten people, including seven students, were injured yesterday morning after a bus travelling along the Mount Ogle main road in Lawrence Tavern, St Andrew, ran over a precipice.

Information reaching The Star is that the injured students attend the Lawrence Tavern Primary and Junior High and Oberlin High schools.

THE STAR gathered that the bus developed mechanical problems and the driver lost control and collided in an embankment.

Reports from the St Andrew North traffic police are that about 8 a.m., a Toyota Hiace was travelling along the Mount Ogle main Road when the bus developed mechanical problems.

THE STAR was also told that the injured students along with the driver of the vehicle were rushed to hospital, where they are in stable condition.

The police say investigations are ongoing.
