Last year’s beaten finalist Campion College trounced Dinthill Technical High to advance to the quarter-finals of Schools Challenge Quiz 2017.

Dinthill Technical lost 11-35 in what was the fourth match of round three.

A disappointed team captain, Kevon Walker, told THE WEEKEND STAR that his team was trying to advance to the quarter-finals for the first time in the school's history.

“It wasn’t like we couldn’t win but we fell short. It was in our reach but we didn’t take the opportunity.”

The closest margin Dinthill stood in the contest was after the opening challenge when they scored five points to Campion’s eight.

By the end of the speed section, a composed Campion held Dinthill at bay, 25 to 14.

In the exciting buzzer section, Campion added 10 more points to their tally to finish on 35, while Dinthill's score was reduced to 11.

Desmond Edwards, Campion’s captain, told THE WEEKEND STAR that his team was very happy for the victory.

“This match was better than our previous match so there is always room for improvement,” he said.

Campion College has never been crowned champions, having been to the finals on two occasions and lost.

“I believe we have the ability to take it to the finals and win it all this year,” Edwards said.

Keep it locked to Television Jamaica for the fifth match of the round today which will see defending champions Titchfield High going up against the Manning's School.
