Reggae artiste Eustace Hamilton, better known as Thriller U from the group L.U.S.T, remembers his 72-year-old father Thadious Jamison, whose body was found in Tredegar Park in St Catherine after being missing for more than five days, as an independent man.

"You can't tell my father that him should go siddung and not go try get something done. He is not that type of person. He just want to get up and go do likkle hustling to get him ting," Hamilton said.

"We as him youths say, 'Daddy, don't work. You and mommy don't have to work because we have unuh backs', but dem nuh care, dem just go do dem tings."

Hamilton said his father was working as a delivery man when he went missing on September 2.

"He was actually running errands in him likkle car. Him carry like blocks, tiles and those things," Hamilton said.

It is reported that Jamison was last seen leaving a hardware store in Spanish Town, St Catherine.

According to the Corporate Communication Unit of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, Jamison's body was found in a shallow grave on Simon main road in Tredegar Park on Saturday around 1 p.m.

The police report said that the process to remove the body had to be postponed because of the torrential rain which lashed the island over the weekend.

Hamilton told THE STAR that when his father never made it back home by 7 o'clock on September 2, memories of a tragedy which claimed the life of his daughter eight years ago came flooding back. Two other persons, Faith Bisasor, 49, an emergency room nurse at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Florida, and her son, Davion Bishop, 15, were also killed in that shooting incident. Thriller U's wife, Camille Hamilton, was also shot, but she managed to call the police for help.

"I was thinking the same thing because my daddy never went missing like that before. Him always try to reach home like by 4 o'clock," Hamilton said. "So it was devastating for me, and because of what happened in 2009, I had bad thoughts in my head."
