Investigators from the Jamaica Constabulary Force have formally charged the two men who were arrested last Thursday during operations in Old Harbour, St Catherine, where more than $35 million and several high-end motor vehicles were seized.

They are 33-year-old Lawrence Pommells, engineer, and 32-year-old Ricardo Harris, mechanic, both of Old Harbour addresses.

Both men are charged with money laundering (possession of criminal property) and breaches of the Corruption Prevention Act (bribery).

Reports are that on June 7, investigators from the Constabulary Financial Unit of the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Branch carried out an operation in New Harbour Village.

During the operation, two premises were searched, and the money, four high-end vehicles, and other valuables were seized.

Both men are scheduled to appear in the St Catherine Parish Court today.
