Jamaicans living in Cayman killed in five-vehicle collision

Three Jamaicans were killed in a five-vehicle collision in the Cayman Islands on Monday.

The Cayman Islands police have identified the victims as 41-year-old Shakara Stewart, 30-year-old Junior Whittaker and 53-year-old Vinroy Grant.

All three Jamaicans were living and working in the Cayman Islands. 

The incident occurred on Shamrock Road, in the vicinity of Coral Bay Village.

According to the police, the collision, which occurred around 12:15 a.m. involved five vehicles including a black Honda Accord, a white Toyota Tundra and a black Honda Fit.

The Toyota Tundra and the Honda Fit both caught fire.

All three people in the Honda were killed. 

Two people in other vehicles were injured and taken to hospital for treatment for what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries.
