Woman arrested for allegedly stealing money from her workplace
The Kingston Western police have charged a 31-year-old woman with larceny as a servant after she was caught stealing money from her workplace in the parish.
Accused is Kadian McKenzie of Seven Miles, Bull Bay in St Andrew.
Reports from the Denham Town Police are that at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, a woman went to her place of business and checked off sales for the previous week.
During the checks, she discovered that one betting machine was short of $227, 500.
The woman reportedly traced the missing cash to a machine operated by McKenzie and confronted her about it.
When asked about the missing money, McKenzie could not provide a satisfactory account.
Hence, a report was made to the police.
Probing by the police led to McKenzie's arrest and later charged.
Her court date is being finalised.
