Hotel worker offered bail for stolen liquor

October 02, 2018

A hotel employee who was reportedly caught on video stealing more than $221,000 worth of liquor from the hotel where he worked was offered bail when he appeared in the St James Parish Court last Friday.

Davantie Dale, of an Ironshore address, is charged with larceny.

Allegations are that on September 17, Dale removed several boxes of liquor valued at J$221,893 from a storage area of the hotel where he was employed as a bar porter. The liquor was then moved to another location where a bus was parked.

The prosecution did not oppose bail, which parish judge Sandria Wong-Small set at $250,000. He was ordered to report to the Coral Gardens police twice weekly.

Dale was also ordered to surrender his passport, and a stop-order was put out for him at all ports of entry.

The matter is to be mentioned again on November 8.
