Have you seen Shanniqua Anderson? - Mother pleads for young daughter to return home
Simone Richards is desperate for her 14-year-old daughter Shanniqua Anderson to return home.
Richards said her daughter left their West Avenue, Kingston, home last Wednesday, after she reprimanded her for coming home late from school.
“She come home from school Wednesday, about 4:45 p.m. and my response to her was ‘Shanniqua, why you come home this late’? She seh she have practice, I said to her seh since you coming home this late, you need to stop. She on the track team, and her grades dropped so mi took her phone from her, and tell her come off all these extra activities and concentrate more pan yuh book,” the mother said.
Richards said that when she woke up the next morning to get her three young sons ready for school, she realised that her eldest child was not in the house.
She said that she was told by her (Shanniqua’s) friends that they saw her boarding a bus to Port Antonio, Portland. Richards said that the child has no known relatives or friends in that area.
Reports from the Elletson Road Police are that Shanniqua was last seen at home wearing a black T-shirt and a black romper. Efforts to locate her have proven futile.
Richards said she desperately wants her daughter back under her roof.
“Mi want her back home, despite whatever situation she’s in, because staying out cya help,” she said.
