The past 15 months have been agonising for the family of Tiffany Murray, who disappeared after she left her home in Palmetto, St Mary, in search of a job in St James.

Even with a $2-million reward for credible information leading to her return or information on her whereabouts, family members have been unable to get a break in the case.

Murray's sister, Alicia, says as she continues to search for her younger sibling, she is also saying a prayer for University of the West Indies student Jasmine Deen, who has been missing since Thursday, February 27.

Speaking with THE STAR earlier this week, Alicia was hoping that Deen's case would have helped to shed some light on her sister's case. She also urges the relevant authorities to pay more attention to cases like these.

Needs to do more

"When I heard of Jasmine, I just said to myself 'There goes another Tiffany'. Jamaica needs to do more as it relates to how they deal with these cases," she said.

"I wish that they will find her (Deen) because it would ease her family's sorrow, and, in addition, this would give me some form of hope that Tiffany will be found. I was also thinking that this situation would somewhat resurrect my sister's case because I think they would have treated Jasmine's case extremely special," she added.

Alicia said her family is heartbroken as they are faced with the harsh reality that there is a possibility that they may never see their loved one again.

"Our parents are stressed about it. My father refuses to speak about the situation but I know he is just putting on a brave face for us. It's really painful. It has been 15 months and it's like she just disappear in thin air," she said.

On the day Murray went missing, Alicia said that her sister got a telephone call about a possible job opening at a place named Moonlight Hotel in Montego Bay, St James.

It appears that she may have been tricked, as there is no hotel that matches that name in the parish.

"I don't know what is going on; we have not heard anything at all. I can't even tell when was the last time I spoke with the investigators because whenever I call their phones, they do not answer," she said.

Anyone who may have seen or knows the whereabouts of Tiffany Murray is being asked to contact the Coral Gardens Police Station in Montego Bay at 876-953-3665 or 119. Persons may also contact her sister, Alicia, at 876-414-3887.
