Two killed in Clarendon

Two men were shot and killed in Clarendon in separate incidents yesterday morning.

In the first incident, it is reported that about 12:10 a.m. Demeon Elliott, 41, otherwise called 'Fro Fro', a fisherman of Darrett Street in Milk River in the parish, was shot dead by unknown assailants at his home. Residents reportedly heard explosions and alerted the police. Elliot was found inside his house with gunshot wounds. The crime scene was processed and the body was removed to the morgue.

Hours later, 27-year-old Jermaine Blackstock, otherwise called 'Nick', was shot dead in Ritchies. It is reported that about 7:55 a.m., Blackstock received a call and left home. Moments later, residents heard explosions and went to investigate. Blackstock was subsequently found along a roadway suffering from gunshot wounds. The police were summoned and Blackstock was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. Between January 1 and June 26, Clarendon has recorded 39 murders.
