St Catherine gunman jumps out motel window to escape cops

Keino Carneigie, a 36-year-old resident of Portmore Pines in St Catherine, was taken into police custody on Thursday after he was held with a firearm at a motel in Old Harbour. 

The STAR understands that in an effort to escape the police, Carneigie jumped through a bathroom window, severely injuring himself in the process. 

The weapon, a Berretta 509 semi-automatic Pistol, was retrieved from him along with a magazine containing two rounds of ammunition.

He was arrested and escorted to a medical facility where he is admitted for his injuries.

He awaits representation to question and charge with possession of a prohibited weapon  and unauthorised possession of ammunition.
