In a move many are calling reminiscent of the Gully vs Gaza days, dancehall artistes Teejay and Valiant traded shots on the classic 2007 instrumental Drumline by the group Black Chiney.

The STAR understands the two have had some issues brewing under the surface for some time, despite having an outward appearance of unity.

“Mi know all a artiste right now weh, we will good enuh. And next week mi hear the man pan stage a seh a Mac dem link when dem wah hit song,” Teejay said in an interview with popular Youtuber JaiiFrais.

While it was initially unclear to whom he was referring, Teejay quickly cleared up any confusion on Instagram by tagging the ‘St Mary’ deejay.

Valiant was quick in his response, tagging the ‘Drift’ hit maker with the comment “Me naah give you no strength for your EP sir. Go work and promote it.”

Teejay went on to release an almost three-minute track titled Chapter 1 on Thursday night. Fans continue to wait patiently for Valiant's official response after he gave a teaser on his Instagram page.

The two started their battle in a similar fashion to incarcerated entertainer Vybz Kartel and long-time rival Movado, who clashed on the Drumline instrumental in 2007 with the classic entries ‘Mofraudo’ and ‘Mr Palmer’, respectively.
