‘I am more than my job’ - Porn star Sashauna Gapeteaser demands respect

Adult film star Sashauna Gapeteaser is making a heartfelt plea for respect, urging people to look beyond her career in the adult entertainment industry.

The popular Jamaican entertainer opened up about the ongoing disrespect she faces in public, calling attention to the mistreatment she endures simply because of her profession.

Gapeteaser told THE STAR that public disrespect is a recurring problem, one that intensifies as her fame grows. She described a disturbing situation where a group of men verbally harassed her in a car after she pointed out that they were driving the wrong way on a one-way street.

Her frustrations boiled over after a recent incident at a party, where she was barred from joining other stars on stage. She believes that the person who denied her access was carrying a personal grudge stemming from her work. The emotional weight of these encounters finally broke her down during a livestream on TikTok on Sunday night.

"I got emotional on the live because I was talking about my experience that the more famous I get, the more people approach me. When there is a group of people, they disrespect me. But when there is one person, they are quick to say 'Oh, a Sashauna' or be friendly," she said.

Gapeteaser is known for her audacious public sexual encounters which involves her having spontaneous sex with total strangers. She is not ashamed of what she does but she is tired of the way people view her, based solely on her profession.

"I embrace all that I do but people need to stop being so gullible and need to treat me like a human being. ... Outside of what I do as a content creator, I am a human being. I have feelings just like everybody else," she said.

Gapeteaser reasoned that being an adult content creator is her way of meeting the demand of persons in the online space who crave such excitement. For Gapeteaser, "persons online are quicker to gravitate to negative content rather than something positive, which is why I provide that type of entertainment".

She is acutely aware of the stigma surrounding adult entertainers, but she insists that society's double standards are harmful. She said that navigating public spaces is sometimes a challenge because of the way people react to her. She urged people to remember that content creators, including porn stars like her, are human beings.

"Because they feel like say other content creators don't have any feelings. Or they feel like, if I'm feeling a certain type of way, I'm not gonna show the public.... Mi just nuh want people in public approach me a certain way because how I entertain people should not flow over into my daily life," Gapeteaser said.

"I always get sexual offers for money when I encounter men on the road and although I embrace some aspects of it, you can't approach certain people about that."
