Stella Maris Preparatory School in St Andrew is seeking to distance itself from the robbery which was said to have taken place on the compound earlier this week.

The school's principal, Sister Mary Joseph, released a statement today saying "the incident actually took place at a different location and not at the school".

The statement comes after a report in which parents raised concerns about the incident that took place on the Stella Maris compound and police confirmed that a bursar and accountant clerk were robbed "at their place of work".

Yesterday, when The STAR sought to speak with the school, the principal was said to be out for the day and the newspaper was told that the vice principal was unavailable.
