The Meteorological Service of Jamaica says a flash flood watch is now in effect for several eastern and south-central parishes due to the recent weather.

These areas include the low-lying and flood-prone areas of St Mary, Portland, St Thomas, Kingston, St Andrew, St Catherine and Clarendon.

This means that those living in these areas are to take precautions as the area is potential to rapid flooding.

The measure will last until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday November 27.

Fishers on the cays and banks, especially those on the south coast, are urged to exercise extreme caution as sea conditions will continue to deteriorate in the vicinity of showers, thunderstorms and strong winds.
