Funky Christmas for some Brits

"One in four Brits will not be showering for days this Christmas.

Research by broadcaster and telecommunications firm Sky and the company's streaming service NOW has revealed many will be keeping their underwear on for more than a day during the festive period.

Also, 55 per cent will remain in their pyjamas for at least 24 hours as they get comfortable in their homes while celebrating Christmas and New Year.

Some will even fib to avoid socialising so they can stay at home and watched their favourite films and TV shows.

A Sky spokesman told the Daily Star newspaper: "A fifth will even go up to five days without leaving the house between Christmas and New Year.

"Meanwhile, 22 per cent of Brits will lie to loved ones to avoid socialising beyond December 25 and, instead, favour time at home bingeing boxsets and watching movies."

Astronaut makes shocking UFO claim

A NASA astronaut claims to have spotted a pair of UFOs on a plane flight from Colorado to Houston.

Leroy Chiao, 64, believes he saw something mysterious when he was piloting his private plane 1,000 miles across the United States when he became alerted to two 3ft-wide orbs that were moving at 9,000ft.

He added they went past within 20ft of him.

The former astronaut - who lived on board the International Space Station in 2004 - said it happened so quickly that there was no time for him to feel afraid.

He is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: "It could've been a bad result if they had actually hit me.

"It happened so quick, there wasn't even a chance to get scared.

"I don't know what it was."

Robots could treat infertility

Scientists have said magnetic-driven microscrews can provide a solution to fallopian tube blockages as they can "successfully clear a cell cluster obstruction".

The high-tech piece of equipment can provide a "precise" way through the tube's "delicate and narrow" structures.

Doctor Haifeng Xu, from the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology in China, believes it could offer people a solution to infertility problems.

He is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: "The robot successfully clears a cell cluster obstruction placed in the channel, mimicking a typical blockage in the female reproductive system.

"This magnetic control provides precise navigation through the delicate and narrow structures of the fallopian tube."
