Identity of man killed in police shootout revealed
The St Andrew Central police have identified the man who they fatally shot in an alleged confrontation in Ambrook Lane, Kingston yesterday.
Dead is Romario Hunter otherwise called "Chicken", a 30-year-old driver from the same area.
Details are that about 5:50 a.m., a police team entered a premises and was allegedly challenged by Hunter.
The lawmen took evasive action and responded, injuring Hunter.
He was allegedly found clutching a Glock pistol affixed with a magazine containing four rounds of 9 millimetre cartridges.
He was assisted to the Kingston Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Independent Commission of Investigations have launched a probe in the matter.
