Collect it or lose it... Jamaicans urged to collect $20,000 giveback under tax credit initiative
Millions have gone uncollected as Jamaicans have failed to access free money given to citizens under the Government’s tax credit programme.
Today, the Tax Administration of Jamaica reported that over 4,000 beneficiaries, each guaranteed $20,000, have not gone to remittance agencies to collect their funds.
Beneficiaries are reminded that they must present a valid government-issued identification and the transaction number sent to them via text or email when they were notified of the disbursement’s availability.
The tax authority says these individuals have until Friday, March 7 to collect the money or lose it, as the funds will go back to the government.
