St Catherine’s most wanted arrested

A man described by the police as one of St Catherine's most wanted has been slapped with firearms-related charges after he was nabbed by lawmen on Saturday.

The man, Gregory Ferguson, 47, otherwise called 'Ruff', self-employed of Duncan's Pen Road, Spanish Town, has been charged with possession of prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition following an incident at Cherry district, Kitson Town in the parish.

Reports from the Spanish Town police are that about 12:40 p.m., lawmen were carrying out an operation in the area when Ferguson was seen driving a motor vehicle. Ferguson, who the police said was wanted for murder, was arrested. The lawmen said a search of the vehicle was conducted and one Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol with a magazine containing six 9mm rounds of ammunition was seized.

Ferguson is to appear before the St Catherine parish court on Friday.
