Two arrested after police seize fake US and gun in Trelawny

The Trelawny police arrested a man and a woman on Tuesday over the seizure of a prohibited weapon and fake US currency during an operation in Mendez Town.

It is reported that about 8:30 a.m., a police team conducted a targeted raid in the area.

During a search of premises, a Smith & Wesson Springfield 9mm pistol and one round of ammunition were found concealed in a couch.

Several counterfeit US notes were also found.

The two persons arrested remain in police custody as the investigation continues.
