PM to address Walsh Award for Excellence

Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller will be the guest speaker at the 11th annual Courtney Walsh Award for Excellence, scheduled to take place at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in New Kingston, on Thursday, October 15 at 7:00 p.m.

The Prime Minister will also present the award to the recipient who emerges winner from among the four shortlisted athletes announced by the selection committee.

The nominees are: chess champion Warren Elliott who has blazed a trail over three decades winning a number of championships; national 400m runner, Olympian Novlene Williams Mills; national football captain Rodolph Austin who plays as a midfielder for Danish Superliga club Brondby IF; and netballer Sasher-Gaye Henry, national representative at the World Netball Championships in 2007, 2011 and 2015.
