Jureidini: H'View still have work to do

Though Harbour View Football Club has won its last two matches in the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL), general manager Clyde Jureidini still believes that his team has a lot of work to do to cement a place in the top half of the league.

"The last two games we got good results, but we're taking it each game at a time," he said. "Even though we have won the last two games, you can also see that we have lost two out of the last five games."

He said: "The aim is to build a steady and consistent performance pattern. We have young new coaches and we have young new talents. With time and some good performances, we will try to keep improving."

A POINT BEHIND

Last Sunday the Stars of the East surprised league leaders Portmore United with a 2-1 victory at home and edged Reno FC 1-0 in their away match on Thursday.

The results put Harbour View a point behind Waterhouse FC, who rounds out the top half of the league on 28 points.

Following a 2-0 defeat to Tivoli Gardens on January 7, Coach Ricardo 'Bibi' Gardner admitted that he felt the pressure after only winning two games at the time. "If we don't win games, there is always going to be pressure, and you will always put pressure on yourself despite (pressure from) the fans and the board," Gardner said at the time.

Jureidini said that the only pressure Gardner is under is the one he places on himself to excel as a coach. "I am not sure if the pressure is real or it is imagined. All coaches pressure themselves to win games," Jureidini said.
