Charlie Smith make changes ahead of key clash
Charlie Smith will be making some changes to their team ahead of today's clash against Norman Manley High at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex this afternoon.
This they hope will turn things around after suffering their first loss of the 2018 ISSA/Digicel Manning Cup season, a 1-0 defeat to Eltham High School last week.
The 1995 champions won their first two games 4-1 and 4-0 respectively and coach Eugene Williams believes they could have maintained they perfect record if it wasn't for a goalkeeping error by Tuishane Edwards.
"It was blunder by the goalkeeper and we are planning to make a couple changes," Williams said. "Our number one keeper, Bush Stewart, was out because of disciplinary reasons, but he will be in the goal tomorrow (today)."
Williams is also forced to make another change as defender Roderick Delmar suffered a tear to the ligament in his right knee and has been ruled out for the remainder of the competition.
NATIONAL DUTY
"I think he is out for the season because as you know the season is short and an injury like this you cannot recover in time to get back on the field," Williams said.
Williams, who has been trusted with leading the team while Jerome Waite is on national duty with the Reggae Boyz, said that it is important for the team to get back to winning ways ahead of the encounter with Group C leaders Camperdown.
"That game against Camperdown on Saturday is very important as we want to build the right momentum," Williams said.
