Miller wants to lift UWI
UWI FC Midfielder Ryan Miller admitted that his team has not been able to play consistently well this season and it might become an impediment to their title hunt if it is not rectified soon.
"We haven't been able to put in consistent performances this season, we win this week and next week we lose, and that has to change if we want to make a run in the play-offs this season," Miller said.
UWI marginally missed out on the playoffs last season after tallying 48 points at the end of the regular season. They were edged out by Harbour View FC with 49 points and Miller does not want to relive the agony it caused.
"It is not a nice feeling to miss the playoffs by one point and we need to be consistent in order to cement our spot in the top half of the table," Miller said.
The UWI team is on 17 points and is sitting in fourth position. But a three game winning streak could possibly take them into the top two as only four points are separating them and league leaders Portmore United, and second-place team Mount Pleasant is a point below the leaders.
Miller, who finished fourth in the golden boot race last season with 12 goals, has promised to score more goals to lift his team.
"I want to score more goals to put my team on top but I am hoping the other strikers can find form too," said Miller, who has scored three times this season.
Since they were promoted to the league in the 2015-16, UWI has only failed once to finish in the top six.
They are scheduled to play a struggling Waterhouse FC at the UWI Mona Bowl on Sunday.
