Tivoli Gardens snapped UWI FC's three-match unbeaten run in the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) at the UWI Mona Bowl on Sunday with a 2-0 win over their opponents, and UWI coach Andrew Peart insists that if they do not become more clinical in front of goal, they will continue to struggle to find wins.

They slipped out of the top six to seventh in the table with 24 points, one less than Tivoli, who climbed one place to sixth. The hosts had the two easiest chances of the game but could not take advantage.

The first chance fell to Stephen Barnett just six yards out, but he blasted his effort over the bar with the goalkeeper at his mercy. Moments later, Davion Garrison broke loose inside the area but delayed and failed to trouble the goalkeeper with his tame effort. Peart says that poor finishing continues to be the team's downfall and that his players need to starting putting away their chances if they intend to climb back into the top half of the table and be more consistent.

"After the opponents scored, we got chances, but we are just not capitalising. We have to score goals if we want to win games, and that is the biggest problem for us now," he said.

"The first half was pretty even. But in the second half, we got two one-on-ones with the keeper, but he did well to save the chances we got.

"But some of these chances that we're getting 10 yards out, we have to be scoring them as that's our biggest problem. When you get those chances, you have to finish them or you are going to be in the situation that we are in now," he stated.

He added, "We cannot stop crying about our poor form in front of goal as we need to do better. Tivoli got their chances and scored. We got ours and didn't score. But we had it (an opportunitiy) against a top challenger, and we had it in us to come out with a win. Then later, after they scored one, we got the chance to come out with a tie, but again, it was disappointing."
