Arnett Gardens' head coach Jerome Waite said his side is very upbeat that they will make this year's Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) play-offs despite their recent poor run of form in the competition.

With four games remaining in the competition, Arnett Gardens are sixth on 41 points, five ahead of seventh-place Tivoli Gardens, while UWI are fifth in the standings on 42 points.

Arnett will play away to Montego Bay United on Sunday, and Waite said once they secure a positive result, then his team will be into the play-offs.

"We will make the play-offs because we just need to get three points from our next game," said Waite.

"We all know it is travelled game, but we are a team that is doing fairly well on the road, and so we just need to get those three points and stay close to the group that is in the top six," Waite said.

Arnett Gardens have lost two out of their last three games but despite that fact, Waite insists his team is not playing badly.

"We just have to continue work and continue to get them to believe the fact that we are going through the phase where we have lost some games due to injury to some key players," said the veteran coach.

"This is the first season that we have had so many injuries, and if you notice, every game that we play is a different team but nevertheless we are still working."
