Although they are just five points behind leaders Portmore United with four matches remaining in the regular season, Waterhouse coach Marcel Gayle says his focus right now is not to finish atop the table to cash in on the $1 million prize.

He says he is very comfortable with the form of his team at this late stage of the season and is focused on staying healthy.

"We are not focused on the million dollars. We are focused on staying healthy, getting through the games injury free and we see where we go from there. I will take the positive things out of the games.

positive results

"It's the intention of every club to win the leagueand we are working on getting it right when it matters. If we get it right, good things will happen and positive results will come, so we are taking it a game at a time and we will see how it goes," he said.

The former UWI FC coach believes his charges are in a good place heading into the play-offs and was impressed with a lot of things his team did in their 1-0 win over rivals Arnett Gardens in the last round.

"It wasn't one of those fantastic games where we moved the ball around and played well. We came to fight for the result and fortunately we got three points. But it was one of our best games in terms of we were disciplined for most of the game and our concentration was on point so it's a stepping stone going forward.

"We have been conceding goals but the last two games we didn't give up any goals, so that is a positive and we were still able to get the odd goal, so that's also a plus," he said.

Waterhouse have played 29 games, won 15, drew nine, and lost five, scoring 41 and conceding 21 and Gayle believes they can only get better.
