Lenworth ‘Teacha’ Hyde is believed to be the man in line to take over as head coach of west Kingston club Tivoli Gardens FC. Hyde left the club in 2010 after winning the National Premier League a year earlier and based on his success with the club, as a coach, and former player, many are touting the former midfield maestro as the man to kick-start the post Edward Seaga era, from the sidelines.

But Hyde, although very much interested in returning to his hometown club, said he has received no contact from the club about taking over for next season.

“I don’t know anything about it,” Hyde said. “I have only heard people talking. I didn’t get any calls or any contact (from the club). I haven’t heard anything.” he told STAR Sports.

He said he has no issue returning to the club as coach for a second stint, but said that he was also in talks with St Catherine club Dunbeholden for next season, and that Tivoli would need to act fast if they are serious about getting his signature.

“If they (Tivoli) call me, I would go back but I don’t know what they are doing,” he said. “I have spoken to Dunbeholden, so I was waiting to hear from them, but I haven’t heard anything from Tivoli. Dunbeholden made contact and I spoke to them but they haven’t gotten back to me,” he said.

“Yes, I am leaving my options open,” he added.

Hyde, the coach of current ISSA/WATA daCosta Cup and Olivier Shield champions, Clarendon College, also won the Premier League title with Harbour View and Portmore United.
