Forward Christojaye Daley is back home lighting up local football competitions for Harbour View with his flair and goals after his failed loan stint with FC Koper in the Slovenian First Division.

However, the 20-year-old noted that in his short football career, he has never experienced the feeling of winning a major title, and he aims to do that with defending Jamaica Premier League (JPL) champions Harbour View.

"The main thing is to defend the title. We are the defending champions, and we aim to retain our title.

"I would like to win because I have never won anything major and do not know what it feels like to win. I want to experience that this season, so I am giving it my all, and I am confident we will retain the title," he told STAR Sports.

Daley left Harbour View in February of last year for his loan move in Europe, but was unable to get a permanent move, as he was affected by injury and acclimatisation.

Daley only played in the truncated 2021 JPL season but is adamant that his transition was easy returning to Harbour View.

"I have been preparing even before the league started, watching to see the pace of the league and how the players play. So I have been preparing myself, and the transition has been very easy," he stated.

The 20-year-old has also been attracting fans because of his dribbling and creative style, and he insists that will not change, however, he aims to continue improving as a footballer.

"You can look for that (dribbles) every game because it is a part of me. Wherever I go, this is how I play. So anytime Christojaye is on the field, you can look for something eye-catching, but my motivation is self-improvement. Just to improve myself every game.

"I am on a mission, and I am just working to achieve that goal, so you can expect more goals, hard work, fight, more assist and just more focus," said Daley, who has two goals and an assist this season.

He also had a word for young aspiring players: "For all the aspiring footballers, I want you to stay focussed, believe in your dreams, and they will come true. Trust God, trust yourself, and in time everything will be good," he stated.
