Arnett Gardens' striker Warner Brown looks to make an impact when they face Portmore United in today's Jamaica Premier League (JPL) quarter-final at 5 p.m., despite losing form and falling down their pecking order.

Brown was Arnett's starting striker at the beginning of the season but fell out of favour after losing form. This also coincided with the return of ace striker Fabian Reid, who with schoolboy Kaheim Dixon, have both been in good form for the 'Junglists'.

Brown is, however, desperate to get back to his best, and is looking forward to playing against Portmore - whatever minutes he gets.

"I know I am a quality player and always working to get back in the team. I can add something to the team to help achieve the season's objectives and win the title.

"I am just bouncing back from injury, and it's not the easiest, coming back from injury. I am not playing regularly anymore, so I am not as sharp as before when I was playing 90 minutes.

"This is the part of the season that counts. It's the knockout stage and at the end of the game it's who gets the win, so I am looking to come off the bench and positively impact the team and help them move on to the next round," he told STAR Sports.

In the first leg last Monday, Brown came off the bench and showed a lot of spirit and desire, as Arnett stepped up a gear before pegging back an equaliser, and he admits that getting a goal against his former team means a lot.

"I was very pleased with the minutes (first leg). Obviously, as a striker, your aim is always to get a goal and help the team. I know I could have contributed more, but I am looking to do that for the second leg.

"It's always a good feeling playing against your former coach and former teammates, and to get a contribution for your current team to help them advance," he stated.

He added that he wants to return to his best quickly.

"It's not that easy coming off injury, but I am working to get back to my best. The main objective is to bring out my best on the field, so you can look for that in this encounter (Monday) and the semis, final and onwards," Brown said.
