Osbourne’s century highlights SDC T20 weekend
Tieno Osbourne smashed a magnificent century to lead May Pen Lions to a huge 158-run victory over Bushy Park in the feature Clarendon fixture in the Sports Development Commission National Community Twenty20 (T20) competition at Sir P Oval in Treadlight, Clarendon, on Sunday.
Osbourne slammed 159 as May Pen Lions piled up 267 for five with Dontay Dillion scoring 45 not out. Charlton Brooks took three for 46 for Bushy Park, who only managed to post 109 in 17 overs. Michael Silva bagged five for 18.
In the opening fixture at the same venue, Race Course chalked up a 30-run win over Vernamfield Royals. Former National youth player Albert Gopie topscored for Race Course with 64 in their total of 203. Wayne Davis made 44.
Former West Indies T20 player Krishmar Santokie then bagged three wickets for 33 runs to restrict Vernamfield to 172 for seven, despite 67 not out from Rohan Duffus.
Over in Manchester, Fairfield United chalked up a six-wicket win over Marcus Garvey at French Park.
Marcus Garvey posted 126 for eight with Rahjay Williams leading the way with 40, against three wickets for Adrian Silvera and Oshane Walters.
Nigel Francis hit 36 to guide Fairfield to 127 for four in 18 overs.
In the second game, French Park/Providence Uprising scored a nine-wicket win over Mandeville Peacemakers.
Peacemakers scored 84 for seven in 16.3 overs with Anthony Kirlew bagging four for 12. Kirlew hit 30 to guide Uprising to 85 for one in 7.4 overs.
Other winners on the day were Content and Petersfield from Westmorland, Montpellier and Logwood from Hanover, Buff Bay United and Bourbon from Portland.
