Harbour View stun MBU
Harbour View stunned hosts Montego Bay United (MBU) with a come from behind 2-1 win in the Jamaica Premier League at the Montego Bay Sports Complex on Monday night.
In a match played in persistent showers, MBU took a lead 1-0 in the 10th minute, courtesy of Brian Brown. Harbour View, however, roared back with goals from Oquassa Chong in the 27th minute and substitute Omar Thompson in the third minute of injury time (93rd). Thompson was sent off shortly after the goal (95th) as tempers flared close to the end of the game.
Harbour View's coach, Jason Henry, was very happy with the result.
"It is pleasing to leave here with all the points. Yes, things got heated but it's football, it is two top teams and everybody wants the three points. We eventually got it in the end but MBU are very tough and it is pleasing to travel back to Kingston with all the points. Massive thanks to the guys and the coaching staff," Henry said.
"We set out to be very compact and hard to break down. We focused on this when we were practising and it paid dividends today," he added.
Despite the loss coach of MBU, Rodolfo Zapata said he is very proud of his team.
"This is a long race. It was a very exciting game and the team played hard and responded positively. The most important thing is that we created chances. It is football, we need to learn from our mistakes and look forward to the next game. We lost but we gave ourselves a chance to win or to draw," Zapata explained.
