In just four days, 2017 will be done and over. Let's try and make 2018 a year of love and laughter nuh!

I know that we have people in this world who refuse fi surprise dem teeth wid a smile or bless dem face wid lickle laugher. Yeah, but nuh follow dem yah! Dem belly may be full wid good food, but some a dem soul hungry an' need feeding wid laughter.

Trust me, laughter is food and healing. It's refreshment for the spirit and nourishment for the soul. And is not me alone think so. Proverbs 17:22 says "a merry heart doeth good like medicine."

And Eric J. Hall, in an online article 'Laughter Is Food for the Soul', shares about Patch Adams, a medical doctor, who also acts as a clown, putting on funny hats and a big nose when visiting children with terminal cancer to make them laugh. According to the article, Adams believes laughter, joy, and creativity are part of the healing process.

I agree. Laughter's also a powerful spiritual experience. Yeah, my God loves laughter. Psalm 100 says "make a joyful noise unto the Lord." And I don't know about you, but I think a good, hearty, belly-laugh is the most joyful noise we can ever make. So if you hear me buss out a big, loud laugh for no obvious reason this holiday season, just join I and I in the chorus of merriment, or simply cork up yu mournful ears if yu don't like mi joyful noise. Trust mi peeps, is laughter medicine me dispensing fi 2018, blended with Godly praise.

That's why I'm happy to worship at Greater Works International Fellowship the church where Apostle Andrew thrills you with jokes while filling you with the word.

And that's also why I was excited to be part of the annual Christmas Comedy Cook-up last night.

And it was not just laughter for applause! No, it was comedy for a worthy cause. We blended charity into the cheer as part proceeds from the event will go towards the 'adopt an angel' project of the Optimist Club of Trench Town.

Yes peeps, share the love. And free up your face and refreshen your soul with music and laughter for 2018.

Let it be like the Bible says in Psalm 126:2: "Then was our mouth filled with laughter and our tongue with singing. Then said they among the heathen, the Lord has done great things for them". Amen!
