Doing better on those resolutions

December 18, 2018

With only a few days left in 2018, most of us are starting to evaluate the last 11 months, trying to see if we have achieved what we said we wanted at the beginning of the year, me included.

Personally, as I get older, I've noticed that I spend more time reflecting on how I spend my time and if I'm achieving my goals.

So let's examine some of the things we placed on our list of New Year's resolutions and how we can do a better job in 2019.

Health and Fitness

Typically, most gyms are filled with lots of new members ready to start off the new year right by including exercise in their lives.

All the stores that sell exercise gear have supplied us with the outfits and tools we need to jump-start the new fitness journey.

Unfortunately, by the end of January, so many of these new members stop showing up. For this new year coming up, I recommend that instead of automatically signing up for the gym, choose an exercise plan that you can actually stick to something you like, perhaps walking in the park every evening, or learning a martial art.

Relationship Status

Some of us start the year single and decide that we want to be in a happy relationship. Then as the months progressed, we do nothing to advance this plan.

We are still hanging with the same friends, not making any attempts to meet new people; just sticking to the same routine.

In this case, I recommend that you do something drastic, step outside your comfort zone and be open to a new life in 2019.

Sexuality

My advice is typically to increase the amount of times you have sex each week by one. This sounds simple enough, but so many of us are in relationships that are completely sex-free, and not by choice.

The good news is, it's possible to reignite your sex life if both of you are interested in doing so. A relationship with satisfactory sex is typically happier and healthier than one that is not.

New Year's resolutions are only effective if you make the commitment to do the work to achieve them.

Personally, this is my favourite time of the year because it represents a renewal, so decide what you want your life to look like for 2019 and get to work.
