Who wants sex as Valentine’s gift?
According to Wallethub.com, Valentine’s Day spending continues to increase as couples try to show their love. Lovers spend over US$24 million (approximately J$3.4 billion) on gifts each year, making Valentine’s Day the second-priciest holiday. Of the amount spent, men shell out three times as much on gifts for women in comparison to what women spend.
Ladies, men need to feel special on Valentine’s Day, too. I’m looking on social media and notice that a few of the comedians have skits about how their women only want to give them sex as a gift, especially on Valentine’s Day. They want real gifts in pretty paper. Some of them commented that they believe that giving sex as a gift is lazy because they get sex on ordinary days, too. They don’t feel special!
I thought that this is a valid concern, and then I conducted a small survey with some of my male friends. I asked them, if they receive the gifts that they are asking for and no sex, would they prefer that? Unanimously, they said no, they want the gift AND the sex. I found this to be hilarious, especially because of the outrage they raised about only getting sex.
I do agree that ladies can do more for their partners on Valentine’s Day because most of the focus is on what the man should do, and they do spend more money. So ladies, dip into your pocket and spend some money on your man; make him feel special and get your sexy outfit on and rock his world.
I know that there are people who feel that Valentine’s Day is just another day and they don’t have to do anything to celebrate it. I think it’s important for couples to do nice things for each other, especially on special occasions. Life is already very busy, and it’s easy to get into a routine that takes the romance out of a relationship. So take advantage of Valentine’s Day and love up on each other. Have fun and stay sexy.
