Foota Hype chides Kasanova for Alkaline similarities
Dancehall artiste Kasanova has hit back at dancehall selector Foota Hype who lambasted him earlier this week on Instagram claiming that he appears to be obsessed with Alkaline.
According to the outspoken Foota Hype, Kasanova would be doing himself much justice if he created a unique identity for himself instead of emulating Alkaline, while claiming that the Champion Boy deejay stole his style.
"Mi nuh have no problem with the artiste a say Alkaline thief him style, but how yuh fi dress like Alkaline? How yuh fi walk like Alkaline and draw up yuh pants inna yuh b.... like Alkaline? Wear false hair like Alkaline and bleach out yuh skin like Alkaline? Bredda, it's crazy. Dat no mek no sense. It come in like yuh obsessed with the man bredda. It nuh look good," Foota Hype said.
Foota Hype's comments were based on a recent interview conducted by Kasanova on Onstage during which he appeared to exhibit the same mannerisms as Alkaline. The deejay has also claimed to have written songs for Alkaline in the past.
When contacted Kasanova gave a measured answer to Foota Hype's controversial remarks.
"Foota Hype is a renowned selector and has been in the industry long enough to be able to know that every dog has its day, and when people cannot accept the truth, their first reaction is to hate," he said.
In the meantime, Kasanova is generating a buzz with his collaboration, Bun Fi Bun, featuring Macka Diamond. The record has racked up more than 55,000 views since its release one week ago.
"The video is doing well, and I am getting a lot of positive reviews from it," said the artiste, who hails from Dela Vega City in Spanish Town, St Catherine.
